A $725 million financing deal with the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California has been finalized, and the anticipated development of a new tribal casino outside of Madera, California, is now underway.
The North Fork Rancheria Economic Development Authority (NFR EDAB) and the New York-based real estate investment trust VICI Properties agreed upon the financing deal. Elaine Bethel-Fink, President of NFR EDAB, said in a statement, “We appreciate the vision and hard work of the financing team to make this deal a reality.” She also said, “We are proud and delighted to be on the same team.”
VICI Properties & Red Rock Resorts
VICI Properties will provide funding for the construction of the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort. The plans include a large-scale gaming and hospitality facility that will be managed by Red Rock Resorts, a Las Vegas-based firm that has been involved in the project for over two decades.
Tribal Chairman Fred Beihn said, “Red Rocks Resorts and its affiliate Station Casino have been constant, dedicated partners of the tribe for over 20 years; this financing package expands and enhances that partnership further.” Tribal Treasurer Maryann McGovran added, “We appreciate everything Station and the lenders have contributed to our two-decade-long dream of bringing jobs and economic development to our tribe and community.”
The new casino resort aims to include 2,400 slot machines, 40 live-dealer table games, two full-service restaurants, a food court, multiple bars, a retail shopping space, a parking deck, and an RV park for travelers.
In March of 2025, the North Fork Rancheria held an event when the final steel beam on the structure’s external frame was set. The ceremony took place on the tribe’s federal trust land, located along California State Highway 99 just north of the City of Madera. The event honored the construction, design, and development teams and the North Fork Rancheria tribal leaders and staff.
Online California Casino Laws
No legislation permits online gambling in the state of California. However, there are also no California gambling laws that make online gambling sites illegal for residents to access.
Online California casinos have been accepting CA players since the late 1990s and have become the most trusted gambling sites for many users. Today, numerous online casino sites accept players over the age of 18 and offer crypto banking options, welcome offers, and a vast library of games that can be wagered upon.
